I just listened to a couple of podcasts with Hanne Albert (thanks Keith) since I just received an MR report stating Modic changes at L4/5 for a patient with little lower back pain, but chronic lumbar radiating symptoms. I know this is outside of the usual wheelhouse, but could Modic changes affect radiating lumbar symptoms, or just lower back pain?

Chris, you can do better than that. The ID forum isn’t for fundamental questions about anatomy and pathology. Especially, when those topics are covered in many other places. Please try google or pub med for a basic understanding of modic changes… maybe even give the podcast mentioned in the original post a listen. It really is full of great info.
The forum is for more advanced questions, hard to find answers or sharing something interesting. Imaging if you searched pub med and shared an article on this forum rather than ask someone else to do that? It would look like this…
