For those of you with a clinical assistant. What are some of the things you have them do on downtime? Such as non-busy seeing patient time or just between patient visits where you have a longer gap.
Next week we have spring break here in Michigan, where literally everyone leaves on vacation, and despite taking 2 days off, we still have a bunch of gaps. I don’t want to send her home, but with an hour between patients gap here or there I’m trying to make it at least productive. This would help other times too when we aren’t as busy.

We typically do training during our down time. There’s always room for improvement with ID testing, exercise instruction, and note taking.

Really it’s quite simple: what do you do in your free time? You’re the leader after all and your staff will simply follow suit. Think about that then come up with 5 daily action steps in priority. Once you have your list post it here and let’s see if we can add more value to the conversation.

Shoot videos. Always be creating content. Come up with a new way to demonstrate treatment or just copy others (steal like an artist). Obviously, the things Seth and Carl mentioned are just as if not more important, but if you’re working to fill your schedule, how people find you (engaging content) will make the other things more valuable bc those will become more applicable.

Thanks for the ideas and thoughts guys. I appreciate the help. I’ll work on more of a list Carl like you said Carl. After Talking with Bill this past weekend at small group, I realize there is a lot more my CA could be doing for me too.
